What happened
Airspan announced it has acquired several fixed-wireless product lines from Cambium Networks, including PMP 450, PTP 670, PTP 700, cnWave, cnReach and associated management/planning software (LinkPlanner, cnHeat, cnMaestro). The transaction brings more than 135 former Cambium employees into Airspan. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Why it matters
This consolidates important point-to-point and point-to-multipoint FWA assets under a vendor (Airspan) focused on carrier, defense and critical-communications markets — preserving continuity for ISPs and CBRS/3GHz customers while strengthening Airspan’s product breadth. It signals continued opportunistic consolidation in the fixed‑wireless vendor space as distressed or refocusing vendors exit product lines.
