What happened

ASX-listed Hansen Technologies agreed to acquire 100% of UK-based Digitalk Group Holdings at an enterprise value of £33.1 million (circa A$66.4 million), funded from cash reserves and debt. Digitalk provides a full-stack MVNO-in-a-box platform — billing, CRM, online charging, provisioning, and IVR — serving roughly 150 customers across more than 30 countries, and slots into Hansen's Global Communications Suite. Completion was expected by the end of 2025.

Why it matters

The MVNE layer is consolidating into the big billing vendors. Digitalk's MVNO-in-a-box platform is exactly the kind of specialist infrastructure that lets operators and brands launch virtual networks quickly, and Hansen buying it signals that enablement platforms are now strategic assets rather than niche tooling. For MVNOs, vendor consolidation cuts both ways: deeper product roadmaps, but fewer independent platform choices at contract renewal time.
