What happened
Wireless Logic acquired Arqia, a Brazilian IoT MVNO providing multi-network cellular connectivity and managed IoT services across Brazil. Terms were not disclosed. The acquisition marked the UK-based IoT connectivity group's entry into Latin America, adding local carrier agreements and regulatory standing in one of the world's largest IoT growth markets.
Why it matters
Latin America was the missing continent in the European IoT consolidators' map, and buying a licensed local MVNO is the fastest way in — Brazilian regulation and carrier negotiation are precisely the barriers that keep global players out. The roll-up thesis keeps expanding geographically: whoever assembles the widest multi-country connectivity footprint becomes the default choice for multinational IoT deployments.
