What happened
Wireless Logic acquired Zipit Wireless, a South Carolina-based multi-carrier IoT connectivity and subscription billing provider whose white-labelled billing platform has supported over $45 million in subscription revenue for OEM clients. The deal — Wireless Logic's first acquisition of a US-headquartered company — also brought Canadian subsidiary Mtrex Networks, extending the group's North American footprint. Terms were not disclosed.
Why it matters
The European IoT connectivity roll-up finally crossed the Atlantic. Zipit's real asset is not SIMs but billing — the monetization layer that lets device makers sell connectivity as a subscription — which is where IoT MVNOs differentiate once connectivity itself is commodity. A US beachhead plus billing IP says Wireless Logic is positioning as the global full-stack alternative to carrier IoT platforms.
