What happened
DISH opened an invite-only beta for Boost Infinite, its $25-a-month unlimited postpaid brand — the retail centerpiece of its bid to become America's fourth facilities-based carrier, running on DISH's own 5G network supplemented by AT&T and T-Mobile coverage.
Why it matters
Boost Infinite was the retail test of whether the government-engineered fourth carrier could actually win subscribers. A $25 flat unlimited price undercut the big three's postpaid tiers and pressured the value segment MVNOs live in — but the slow, invite-only start foreshadowed how hard building retail momentum on a new network would be.
