Week of October 25–31, 2026Weekly Telecom Intelligence: October 25–31, 2026
This week the FCC accelerated direct-to-device momentum by clearing Amazon Leo's acquisition of Globalstar and launching a rulemaking that proposes auctioning roughly 25 MHz for flexible terrestrial and satellite use. That regulatory push, coupled with Equatys expanding its neutral-host roster and Terrestar joining the initiative, signals industry movement toward interoperable wholesale D2D models. At the same time T‑Mobile's rejection of a SpaceX MVNO and digital MVNO consolidation like Noble's acquisition of SmartLess underline that carriers and brands will drive different strategies for distribution and scale. Collectively these developments create both new wholesale channels and heightened competition, pushing MVNEs to ready stacks for multi-access provisioning and rapid MVNO integrations.
